About SOUTHCOTT - YEARSLEY Families
The SOUTHCOTT-YEARSLEY Family website is intended to compile and save all the
information gathered about the Southcott`s of Crediton and Exeter, Devon,
England and subsequent decendents in the London, England area, Philadelphia,
PA, USA, St John's, Newfoundland and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It
also encompasses the John Yearsley family of Cheshire, England who emigrated to
the United States in 1700 and settled in William Penn`s Pennsylvania. Inter-
marriages also include early colonial families from New England which include
the Wight/White family of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and the Wolcott's of
Connecticut.

All of the content is the responsibliity of Francis R. Southcott and he assumes
full accountability for it`s accuracy. Every effort has been made to obtain
original documents or information from original sources to confirm the family
history. Nonetheless, it is a work in progress. Throughout the research I
have chosen to incorporate probable family members based on given information
despite the lack of adequate confirming sources. In my opinion, this aids in
the search for additional ancestors and serves as a basis for discussion in the
confirming process. Please address any additions, corrections or suggestions
to me SOUTHFRAN@aol.com. All the content of the website is intended for
genealogical purposes only.

It is hoped future generations will embrace the lives of our ancestors as I
have, giving them flesh, and bringing their history to life. The discovery of
long-lost relatives and families and their re-linking to the family tree has
been a wonderful endeavor in the human experience.
